Suquamish Studio

Publication:

Sunset Magazine, May 2002, (Bathroom)

This tucked away studio was sited in such a way as to obtain a birdhouse, woodland, and salt water view beyond, and for the opportunity to access more natural light. The interior has a work/office area, conference and editing area, kitchen, and washroom. The exposed interior timbers were re-milled from a stock of reclaimed timbers the owners purchased prior to the design process. The cedar shake siding was reclaimed from the previously remodeled primary log residence. All the lap siding, decking and 10" fir plank floor were milled from trees cleared at the building site. The exterior rustic textures and sturdy elements are scaled to be in balance with the opposing log residence.
